How our crate hire service works
How many crates will I need
As a rough guide, a single desk and its immediate storage usually fills two to three crates, while a two bedroom home typically needs 30 to 40 crates in place of cardboard boxes. We confirm an accurate number during your survey so you are not left short or paying for crates you do not use.
Delivery, packing and collection
Crates are delivered flat packed or nested a day or two before your move, ready to be filled straight away with no tape or assembly needed. Once you have unpacked at the other end, let us know and we will arrange collection, usually within a few days.
Office moves and colour coding
For office relocations we often label or colour code crates by department or floor, so everything lands at the correct desk in the new building without staff needing to sort through a mountain of identical boxes. Crates suit books, files, kitchenware, clothing and most general contents, but larger furniture, mirrors and artwork still need to be wrapped and transported separately.
