North Devon south Devon and the moors
Devon is three very different moving jobs. The south coast around Torquay Paignton and Dartmouth means steep hills and narrow seafront roads. North Devon around Barnstaple and Bideford is a longer drive off the M5 down the A361. The moors mean single track approaches and gateways that decide the size of vehicle before anything else does.
We settle all of that at the survey. You get one written price covering the crew the vehicle the materials and the insurance with no hourly rate ticking in the background.
How the day is planned
Two and three bed homes from the south east are usually loaded on day one and delivered the following morning. Flats and part loads leaving early from Bristol Reading or Southampton can be done inside a single day.
The crew that loads your house is the crew that unloads it. They are our own uniformed staff not agency labour hired for the trip.
Access parking and thatch
Older Devon cottages bring low doorways narrow winding stairs and thatched roofs that rule out working overhead. Large wardrobes and corner sofas often go through a window on a hoist or come apart entirely and we decide which at survey.
City centre deliveries in Exeter and Plymouth need permits in controlled zones. We apply for the suspension in advance so the vehicle parks at the door instead of two streets away.
Packing storage and extras
Choose full packing and our packers wrap everything down to the kitchen cupboards. Choose part packing and we handle only the breakables. Cartons tape and covers are all included in the quote.
If your dates slip we hold the load in containerised storage and deliver when the property is ready. Nothing is rehandled because the containers are sealed at your old address.
