New Town stairs and Georgian flats
New Town and Stockbridge flats sit above stone communal stairs with no lift. Ceiling heights are generous but doorways and landings are not, so wardrobes and dressers are dismantled and heavy items come down by stair crew with proper straps. Listed buildings get extra protection on the stonework and the handrail.
Morningside and Bruntsfield are mostly main door and colony houses with easier access but tight residential streets, and Leith runs to modern apartments with a lift and a booked bay.
Parking permits and the festival
Central Edinburgh is heavily controlled. We apply for a parking suspension through the City of Edinburgh Council in advance so there is a legal space at the door on the day. August is different again. Festival road closures and diversions change what is possible so August moves are surveyed with the event map open and usually start earlier in the morning.
Missives storage and flexible dates
Scottish entry dates can move at short notice. We hold the booking rather than cancelling it and offer containerised storage so your furniture is safe while the paperwork catches up. Everything stays sealed in the container it was loaded into.
