Tenement moves done properly
West End and Hyndland tenements are three and four storey walk ups. The stairs are wide but long and the half landings defeat a lot of furniture, so anything that will not turn comes apart and goes back together upstairs. Where a piece cannot be dismantled we hoist it through a window and that decision is made at survey with the right kit already on the vehicle.
Stair runners bannister protection and door frame guards go down before the first box leaves the van. Communal closes are shared property and we leave them as we found them.
Parking and city centre access
Much of the West End Finnieston and the Merchant City sits inside controlled parking. We apply for a bay suspension through Glasgow City Council so the lorry stands at the door rather than round the corner. Riverside and Merchant City apartments usually have a goods lift and a loading bay which has to be booked with building management, and we make that call for you.
Where the street simply will not take an 18 tonne vehicle we shuttle with a smaller van. It is planned, priced and included, not added afterwards.
What your Glasgow move includes
